A winter holiday on Mount Plose without skis?
Even those who don’t like to ski or snowboard – they can still spend a wonderful winter holiday in South Tyrol. Winter hiking through snow-white mountain forests is simply magical. With snowshoes on your feet even snowy pastures are no obstacle. Sleigh rides stand for pure romance and a visit to the Christmas market will make time fly. Cross-country skiers can expect fantastic trails – ice princesses can practice pirouettes on frozen lakes. A ski holiday on Mount Plose has many features that will make everybody happy.
Tour suggestions
Tour to Mount Großer Gabler
The starting point is the parking lot at the ski lift Pfannspitze/Monte Pana. Follow the hiking trail to the alpine lodge Schatzerhütte, turn left at the junction and, always heading north, climb up to the summit.
Tour to Mount Campillberg
From the winter car park in Oberflitt, where the toboggan run ends, this tour leads, depending on the snow conditions, first along the toboggan run or – if the snow conditions are good – via the shorter and steeper hiking trail no. 2 (Jakobsstöckl) up to the open alpine pastures of “Maurerdreiwiesen”. The tour continues across the alpine pastures in a north-eastern direction to the summit cross. The descent follows the ascent path.
Ski tours
Conquer the mountains on skis and skins, then race down on pristine powder snow: experience pure winter pleasure, with the “Plose Nights” on the ski slope Trametsch or on a tour on Mount Großer Gabler.
